Those who text on a regular basis, may like predictive text, while others cannot stand it. Predictive text is when the phone will predict the text that you are trying to submit, and it will suggest it to you, and you can click on it, in order to text much faster.
This is a great way to text quicker, if you are trying not to use the voice to speech, text option. Although predictive text can be very helpful to some, to others it may be a great annoyance. You may be typing a certain word, and the phone will suggest a completely different word, which may make no sense.
1.Some phones are so sensitive, that predictive text may show up on its own in your text message, and you may not realize it until you’ve sent it with a message that you didn’t mean to imply. If you are very annoyed by predictive text, then it’s best to turn it off.
Every phone is different, and predictive text programs are different as well. There is a generic way to turn off most predictive text in different phones, but you may need to read the instructions for your specific phone, in order to turn off predictive text.
2.You’ll first want to go into “write messages”, and then you look for “options.” Once you’re in the options section, you’ll look for “input method,” which will give you different options on how you’d like your text inputted. You may see predictive text underneath something that says “smart text,” or something similar, meaning that it is predicting the text for you.
This is the option that you want to turn off, if you are annoyed with predictive text. You’ll want to choose “multi ABC” with lowercase or uppercase ABC. This will allow you to type in your text messages as you see fit, and without the predictive text.
3.If you get tired of typing every single word through text messaging, you can always go back and in turn the predictive text on again, using the same method as before. Remember that every phone is different, and there may be certain settings that need to be done, in order to turn predictive text on or off.
Many phones these days will have talk to text, where you can talk in your text messages, and this is much faster. If you’re still one who likes to text with their fingers, then feel free to do so.
4.The more advanced phones will still have predictive text, but there may be a more difficult way of turning them off, or it may be just as simple as any other phone. A manual should be provided with any phone that you have, or you can always go online to look up the different ways to turn off the predictive text.
Once the predictive text has been turned off, you may find that you’re taking longer to do a text message, because you’re having to text every word, letter by letter.
